Sikkim Government B.Ed. College, Soreng was established in the year 2009 and became operational in the year 2010 as a Constituent College of Sikkim University to cater to the long standing need for providing avenues for pre-service and in-service secondary teacher education programmes for the aspiring students in Sikkim.
